Family Therapy context. The purpose of this study is trying to collect the experience of
Medical Family Therapy practice from the collaboration between Counseling Psychologists
and health care professionals, and also explore the challenge during the collaboration and the
role in the medical team. This study adopts a “case study” approach and select health care
professionals and Counseling Psychologists who were in collaborative relationship in
Medical Family Therapy context. The author used 1~1.5 hour each to interview 5 participants
during the period from October to December 2017 After finishing interview, the researcher
asked every participant to check his/her data based on the research ethics, Reliability and
Validity. The finding are as follows:
1. Aggressive Policy promotion and establishing standard procedure could thicken
collaboration in order to making Medical Family Therapy to be the formal intervention
model.
2. The qualities and relationship between interprofessional are the factors which could
enhance collaboration during the process of practicing Medical Family Therapy.
3. Manpower shortage which cause the uncoordinated response between professionals
affect the collaboration. Furthermore, the researcher discussed the culture and power
issue which cause communication gap and the difficulties of collaboration.
4. Counseling Psychologists should be more flexible and active to creating more
opportunity and reputation during the early stage of collaboration with other

professionals. Also, Counseling Psychologists should correspond the changing situation
and adjust the application and form of counseling.
At last, according to the research result, the suggestions to Counseling Psychologists,
health care professionals and researchers were provided.
