Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 社會政策與社會工作學系 === 106 === The purpose of this research was to discuss the supportive needs of college students with disabilities in learning and living. This study adopted qualitative approach. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 13 college students with disabilities and 2 resource room teachers of National Chi Nan University. The main findings include:
1. The problems and supportive needs of college students with disabilities in learning.
(1)The school system
This part includes the problems of “The school affairs information systems lack accessibility and hinder the informations equality” and “The school graduation benchmark system”.
(2)Reasonable accommodation
This part includes the problems of “According to the disabilities needs, to provide appropriate textbooks”, “Helping handle the group interpersonal issues”, “According to the disabilities needs, to provide the exams adjustment” and “According to the disabilities needs, to provide the internship adjustment”.
(3)Supportive services
This part includes the problem of “The courses are difficult to learn and require human assistance”.
2. The problems and supportive needs of college students with disabilities in living.
(1)The school system
This part includes the problems of “The student restaurant menus lack accessibility”, “The school buses lack accessibility”, “The campus accessibility needs to be improved” and “The campus traffic safety is not well-received”.
(2)Reasonable accommodation
This part includes the problem of “To promote the knowledge of the disability for the social and to take the initiative to fight for the reasonable accommodation”.
(3)Supportive services
This part includes the problems of “To provide the accompanying accommodation assistance”, “To provide the dormitory bedrooms which are accessibility” and “According to the disabilities needs, to provide the social skills counseling”.
