Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 航空太空工程學系 === 106 === Composite materials are composed by two or more materials. It has various advantages of less weight and good mechanical properties compared to other materials in industry. Composites are highly popular in aerospace and automobile industries in recent years. Out of autoclave (OOA) process came into limelight as an alternative to traditional high-pressure autoclave process. The purpose of this research is to manufacture two combinations of composite materials using carbon fiber prepreg (CFRP) and dry fibers namely, woven glass fabric or unidirectional (UD) carbon fabric. Combination 1 has CFRP and woven glass fabric. Combination 2 has CFRP and UD carbon fabric. Core idea of this research is to check the feasibility of manufacturing a composite material using CFRP as a source of resin to fill the dry fibers. This is a process similar to the OOA process. Experiments were conducted to check if an acceptable fiber volume fraction in a composite laminate with less void content could be achieved. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) is used to study the resin distribution of the fabricated laminate composites. With the combination of proper thick prepreg and fiber fabrics, laminate composites with less void content could be fabricated without using the autoclave.
