During the development of social enterprises, there were many practitioners with passion and idealism joining the social enterprises, but they could not stick to it and retreat with sadness. Not to mention there are many spectators who remain at the theoretical and utopian stage, they have not yet taken the first step to join social enterprises. Therefore, how to attract and retain people to serve in social enterprises is an issue worth discussing. Most of the studies on social enterprises are limited to business models and business concepts. However, there are few discussions on social enterprise practitioners. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the successful process of a representative case changing his career to social enterprises, including the key of transition and settling in a social enterprise. This research adopts the case study method. The research subject as the representative case is JIM HAN, the Vice President of Leezen Company, through the gathered data of interview to analyze the career path of this individual case by adopting the grounded theory. There are three problems and results in this study. First, the key for the subject to convert egocentric to altruistic industries because of the change of thinking and the experience of happiness. Second, the subject is willing to firmly settle in the social enterprise without retreat, the key is to use altruism as a starting point to help other people but also lead himself to avoid suffering and gain happiness. Third, how the subject identifies himself in the future is to increase the influence of social enterprises continually and develop this social enterprise sustainably so that more people are able to be benefited. For the spectators who want to join in the social enterprise, the practitioners of the social enterprise and the public, this study provides the results as a reference, they are able to fathom the beliefs and perseverance of this research subject. Also, this study finds “self-awareness, other-awareness, action and inspiration”. It looks forward to bringing more volunteers who are committed to making the world a better place, joining in or supporting the social enterprises, as well as moving ahead on the road to sustainable development.
