The control of the ambient intelligence is one of the main topics of the IOT applications. With the advancement of technology, many home appliances have been developed with communication capability. For these highly heterogeneous devices, how to connect them together to construct a system which can be automated and communicated with each other is an important issue. The main problem of this task is to overcome the communication barriers of various heterogeneous objects. In this study, the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Activiti process management tool are applied to integrate these heterogeneous objects and allow users to use Activiti for editing and execution processes, so that processes and devices can communicate with each other. To demonstrate that the proposed method is feasible, an indoor environment monitoring system is implemented to monitor the comfortability and safety of indoor environment.
