A prospective randomized study was conducted on 24 healthy adult bitches divided into four groups (n=6). The dogs received DEX 10 μg/kg + TZ 3 mg/kg + AZA 0.3 mg/kg (A group), DEX 5 μg/kg + TZ 3 mg/kg + AZA 0.3 mg/kg (B group), DEX 3 μg/kg + TZ 2 mg/kg + AZA 0.2 mg/kg (C group), and TZ 10 mg/kg (D group) intramuscularly for induction anesthesia for OHE. Within each treatment group, dogs randomly separated into 2 surgery groups, which performed by an experienced surgeon (E group) and an inexperienced surgeon (I group). Supplemental TZ was administered to the dogs when anesthesia was considered inadequate during surgery. Dogs in all groups were rapidly sedated. However, 2 dogs in B group and 1 dog in C group weren’t able to achieve enough sedation for lateral recumbency. The dose of supplemental TZ needed for maintain anesthesia was significant lower in E group than in I group and was significant lower in AE group than in CI group. Carryover drug effect was reported by 0% of dogs in AE group compared to 86% of dogs in the other group and it showed that AE group achieved moderate agreement for carryover drug effect. The postoperative sedation score of E group was significantly lower than I group at 1 hour after extubation. Increasing the dose of DEX increased the successful rate of intubation. The speed of OHE influenced the time of the recovery. The dose of TZ using in OHE influenced the quality of the recovery. Hsien-Chi Wang 王咸棋 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 78 en_US |
