The microclimate in net houses change with outside environment. So it is difficult to develop a standard culture guidance to apply all over Taiwan. In this study, the non-destructive methods for measuring the water content of the different medium formula were developed with regression analysis. And the growth habits of the Cymbidium faberi in different fertilizer concentration and medium formula were investigated according to the phenology observations. The results showed that the crop has a wide range of adaptation to the cultivation medium and fertilizer concentration. The substrate (gravel : satsuma : bark : coco peat = 6: 4: 2: 1) is suitable for economical production. The better fertilizer concentration is 1/7500. The limit of crop’s growth temperature is 34°C (day) and 25°C (night), In central Taiwan, the sprouts of lateral buds differentiated every month, and flower buds since May. The crop can be flowered successfully with the cooling treatment for one month.
