Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 應用經濟學系所 === 106 === In order to analyze the difference of bilateral international tourism between both countries in a more comprehensive way, it is necessary to consider two-way tourism trade and the amount of tourism consumption. However, most of the related literatures in the past usually analyze Taiwan’s tourism and focus on one-way tourism trade, that is, talk about only inbound or outbound tourism to Taiwan. Therefore, the results cannot fully understanding the overall tourism interaction among Taiwan and other countries. This can be the first study discussion on the trade in tourism service of Taiwan and its main 11 partner countries, also applied GL index which used to analyze commodity trade through using the total amount of tourism revenue and expenditure to calculate, the estimate results can explain the active level among both countries. Furthermore, the results also have been dividing into horizontal and vertical trading types. Last but not least, the study employ Panel Logit model and gravity model to analyze the crucial factors affecting Taiwan’s trade in tourism service. During the observation period, the GL index of tourism trade between Taiwan and China are the highest off all. In addition, the GL index between Taiwan and Japan is gradually decrease by year, the index result means the active level of trade in tourism service of both countries no longer lively. In terms of trade type dismantling, most of the trade type of Taiwan and its main partner countries are tend to be two-way vertical trade, and the low quality vertical trade is relatively high. The result indicates the development of Taiwan’s trade type of trade in tourism service is similar to the trend (two-way) of international tourism, and there is still considerable progress in the quality of tourism. According to the empirical results of panel logit, the impact of net GDP difference on two-way trade is in line with expectations. On the other hand, time variable season 2 have strongly impact on horizontal trade type in gravity model. Taiwan’s tourism quality is lower than Europe, America, New Zealand and Australia countries at present. Thereby improving the quality of tourism through creating cultural highlights that are not available in neighboring countries and providing unique and unrepeatable Taiwanese features under the competition of actively develop tourism by countries around the world, which are the policy implications that can be provided in this study.
