To establish temperature rise thermal error prediction model of the machine through the multiple linear regression analysis. The displacement measurement system consists of two laser diodes and two photodiodes. The refraction phenomenon has displacement changing on the two photodiodes through the glass-ball lens and then obtains the three-dimensional thermal error signal of the end of the spindle. The measurement method used two sets of displacement measurement system. To measure and record for four hours of spindle and nose headstock at the spindle speed of 6000, 9000, and 12000rpm respectively. The displacement difference between spindle and nose headstock is the mandrel of the actual thermal deformation. We use multiple linear regression methods to analyze and establish the prediction model of thermal deformation of machine base on temperature changing through the displacement and temperature information by MATLAB. The experimental results show that displacement trend of the model is similar to the real situation, and predictive error is less than 2μm at the spindle speed of 11000rpm.
