Results from the analysis indicated that levels of Alb adducts of estrogen quinones, including E2-2,3-Q-4-S-Alb and E2-3,4-Q-2-S-Alb were detected in all subjects (n=75) with mean (standard deviation) levels at 399(257) and 676(337) pmole/g pmole/g, respectively. No significant difference of these adducts was observed as distinguished by stage of breast cancer. In addition, levels of E2-2,3-Q-4-S-Alb and E2-3,4-Q-2-S-Alb were comparable with those detected in patients with benign tumor women 472(188) and 818(280) pmole/g, respectively). However, these adduct were about 1.4 fold greater than those in healthy controls 294(116) and 138(57) pmole/g, respectively) (p<0.001). Further investigation into the association of these adducts with indicators of diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, including ER(+)/(-)、PR(+)/(-)、HER2 (+)/(-), indicated that levels of E2-2,3-Q-4-S-Alb and E2-3,4-Q-2-S-Alb did not correlate with the status of these indicators. However, as distinguished by mean values of E2-2,3-Q-4-S-Alb and E2-3,4-Q-2-S-Alb, levels of E2-2,3-Q-4-S-Alb were about 27% greater in PR(+) patients than those with PR(-) among subjects with adduct levels less than or equal to the mean values (p<0.001). Similarly, levels of E2-2,3-Q-4-S-Alb were about 9% greater in HER2(-) patients than those patients with Her 2(+) (p<0.05). Overall this evidence suggests that Albumin quinone protein adducts biomarkers of breast cancer in preventive medicine associates with indicators of Screening for breast cancer.
