碩士 === 明道大學 === 企業高階管理碩士班 === 106 === In recent years, the Taiwanese industrial development has encountered many bottleneck and setbacks which led to the exodus of various industries. This phenomenon warrants some attention for us to explore in depth what factors are causing this. This study attempts to obtain a deeper understanding of why certain industries are relocating out of Taiwan. Through reviewing research publications and news articles, this thesis aims to analyze the rise of the Taiwanese manufacturing industry and the impact of the exodus of industries on the economic development in Taiwan. In addition, this thesis will explore the strategies that could allow the manufacturing industry to remain in Taiwan and the potential transformation from subtracting to innovative branding. This thesis will also analyze the impact of globalization on Taiwanese manufacturing industry, how does Taiwanese government and neighboring countries’ economic policies create a push and pull effect which created a wave of relocation. The thesis will apply Michael Porter’s diamond model frame work to explore the competitiveness of the Taiwanese manufacturing inductions and how to prevent further industry losses. Final recommendations will be made at the conclusion of this analysis.
