A questionnaire survey was adopted as the research approach. Eight hundred formal questionnaires were randomly administered at a city/county level. A total of 782 questionnaires were recovered. Minus the invalid questionnaires, a total of 770 valid questionnaires were retained, for a recovery rate of 98%. Several methods were employed for statistical analysis, including Descriptive Statistics, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Scheffé Method, and Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation. The findings were as follows: 1. Technical high school students’ Chinese learning motivations and values were positively correlated with their future development. 2. The effects that Chinese learning motivations and values have on future development differed significantly for technical high school students with different backgrounds. 3. Technical high school students’ Chinese learning motivations and values were significantly correlated to their future development. The curricula in technical high schools focus on specialized subjects. However, the findings of this study indicated that Chinese influences the future development of technical high school students. Therefore, equal value should be attached to professional subjects and general subjects. Teachers that are able to take advantage of different teaching strategies to encourage students to take the initiative and promote interaction and sharing will inevitably achieve excellent learning performance.
