And with the fast development of technologies, the traditional media have extended their markets to the internet. Since the traditional media are afraid to be taken place by the internet and thus lose their own values, the era of new media is approaching, This article wrote about the political behaviors of Ko WenJe since he took office as the Mayor of Taipei in 2014, focusing on his policies and marketing on the internet, and discussing the content of his various interactions with citizens in Taipei in order to publicize his personal image. Through this researching, the article wants to further understand politician’s wrappings of new media. The emerging of Ko Wen-Je increases the diversity of propaganda of political figures in Taipei.
The article used the method of literature analysis and case analysis method of Ko Wen-Je using new media to build his own images after he became the Mayor of Taipei. And the article explored the influences and meanings of Ko Wen-Je under the background at that time and sorted all kinds of news. At last, through theories of new media and the analyzation of Ko WenJe’s use of new media, the articles came up with inferences of Ko WenJe’s previous operations of politics and topics.
The results of this research are enhancing the understandings about Ko WenJe’s operations of new media and provide references for future related researches. Besides, it offers a new way to publicize oneself for future political candidates.
