Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 應用統計與資料科學學系碩士班 === 106 === In November, 2016, the latest report of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Assessment (IEA) investigate Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) has been released, thus far, Taiwan, Singapore, and South Korea kept good performance as always. Although the location of three countries are close, there are somewhat differences on educational systems among them due to the historical culture background variations. This study aimed to explore the differences between three countries in distinct background, and to construct the model of mathematics achievement factors that can affect the students in 8th grade in Taiwan. Based on the reults of data analysis, the major findings of this study were summarized as follows: (a) Taiwan and South Korea performed better on society and education respectively, Singapore had better performance on psychology and mathematics learning achievement; (b) difference levels of “self-expectation about education”, “educational resources about family” and “homeworks about mathematics” have significant differences in society, psychology, education and mathematics learning achievement in these three countries; (c) According to the result in Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and SmartPLS, the performance of “interation between teachers and students” and “interation between students” and “education” could directly influenced mathematics learning achievement, and it could also influence indirectly on mathematics achievement by “psychology”. In conclusion, both teachers and parents should emphasis on student psychology of learning and encourage them to plan the future. In addition, we must pay attention to “educational resources about family” and “homeworks about mathematics”. Then, it is important to establish interaction of teacher and students. At last, we should develop ability of thinking and solving problems in the future, because students take the initiative to think and expore the problem.
