Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 犯罪防治學系碩士班 === 106 === The study is based on self-narrative to explore the impact of “life counselors” on child-care institutions, resettlement cases and placement cases. The Children’s Home that began with the orphans hosting warfare gradually evolved into alternative homes for children and adolescents who are deprived of functions in their native families. To allow children to grow steadily and safely, the Children’s Home provide 24 hours of professional service and care. Since the children's and younger resettlement organizations are special objects of service and serve as the last line of defense for children's protection work, the children's and young's placement agencies have always been difficult to peek into; according to past research, life counselors, besides the daily life of alternative parental care placement cases, must handle and resolve the distress and emotions of resettlement cases at the same time, teach them to correct the misalignment of resettlement cases, and also must to accept the verbal and physical violence from cases. The self-narrative break the limitation of the interview method, to reproduce the three-year life (the period from September 2013 to September 2016) of the researcher’s life story in the Children’s House. The main purpose of this research is to re-experience the researcher’s life story. In addition to re-awareness and reflection, and present the daily routine, the duty of the life counselor, to describe the relationship between the child placement agencies, resettlement cases, and life counselors, to raise public awareness of the Children’s House, and to enhance the current life counselors' self-identity and professional values, and to provide someone who wants to serve as a life counselor in future.
