碩士 === 康寧大學 === 應用外語研究所 === 107 === The participants were 52 fourth graders from two classes in an elementary school in Tainan City. The experimental group (26 fourth graders) was taught by the integration of using tabletop games for 17 weeks. Five instruments were employed, consisting of instructional materials, an English listening test, an English speaking test, a questionnaire of students’ responses to tabletop games, and four kinds of tabletop games. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. The use of tabletop games in an elementary school English program could improve the students’ English listening comprehension significantly. 2. The use of tabletop games in an elementary school English program could improve the students’ English speaking ability significantly. 3. Positive responses were displayed to the use of tabletop games in an elementary school English program.
