Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 企業管理系碩士在職專班 === 106 === ABSTRACT Holding massive inventory could cause some risks and pressures on cost of finance and logistics for enterprise operations. However, in order to enhance customer’s satisfaction and maintain company’s competitiveness, inventory must be effectively managed. Enterprises also need to lower inventory level and shorten supply lead time so that operational efficiency can be enhanced. The purpose of study is to focus on investigation of IMS (Inventory Management Strategy) by using fish bone diagram analysis to identify the causes of why inventory level is high, and then find alternatives to eliminate these causes. A case study of a LED manufacturer located in Southern Taiwan is conducted to investigate how to lower work-in-process inventory level. The study identifies an improvement process that include increasing forecasting accuracy, shorten delivery lead time, and shorten manufacturing lead time. It is suggested that the improvement process can be implemented in electro-optic industry to resolve similar inventory related problems.
