Effects of water-cement ratio (W/C),the amount of accelerator and PCM on the mechanic properties, insulation and energy saving characteristics of portland cement composite were studied. Results showed that,as the W/C is 0.35 to 0.40 shows better workability than W/C is 0.45,and the compressive strength of 28 days cured portland cement can reach the standard of 210 kgf/cm2 specification of ASTM C109 for suitable heat insulation and energy saving concrete matrix。As for hydration reaction curve, the addition of 1 to 5 wt% calcium chloride can accelerate the initial hydration reaction rate of portland cement and increase its early strength。Scanning thermal analyzer shows octadecanoic acid/water glass PCM The peak values of the two peaks are:the main peak heat Capacity value is 60.1 J/g, the secondary peak is 42.9 J/g,and the phase change temperature is 65~85°C,which is suitable for building materials in desert areas.
