Typing is the main source of health problems. In order to reduce the burden of typing, many computer assistive devices have been developed, such as keyboard wrist rest and computer arm support. This study conducted a five minutes Chinese typing experiment use of keyboard wrist rest and computer arm support. Using electromyography(EMG) to measure the electric potential of the right extensor digitorum muscle, extensor carpi radialis longus muscle, triceps brachii muscle, and calculate root mean square(RMS) to judge the discrepancy of different experimental groups and to use questionnaire to understand the subjects comfort feeling under different conditions. The results of the experiment showed that 1. There was no significant difference between the EMG signals of the three muscles before and after the keyboard wrist rest were used. The questionnaire results indicated that the Keyboard wrist rest could not improve the comfort feeling of the arm and wrist. 2. Computer arm support can reduce the extensor digitorum muscle 3.7%, extensor carpi radialis longus muscle 8.7%, triceps brachii muscle 36% of the EMG electric potential.
