Summary: | 碩士 === 義守大學 === 企業管理學系 === 106 === Proactive behavior is considered one of the fundamental quality of a good worker in contemporary society. In an increasingly competitive environment, improving efficiency and worker value becomes vital. Our research discusses the effect of the increasingly popular transformational leadership and the more traditional Chinese authoritarian leadership on employee’s proactive behavior. Moreover, since the relationship between a leader and employees may influence employees being proactive, we also examine the moderating effect of leader-member exchange(LMX) on the above main effects.
This research surveyed employees that interact with their employers during work. A total of 228 surveys were collected. Using hierarchical regression analysis, we discovered a positive correlation between transformational leadership and employee’s proactive behavior, and a negative correlation between authoritarian leadership and employee’s proactive behavior. Additionally, the moderating effect of leader-member exchange(LMX) posed no significant influence on both authoritarian and transformational leadership’s effect on employee’s proactive behavior. Finally, according to the results of this study, we discussed theoretical implication and managerial suggestions.
