The series novel of the Harry Potter— Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been published for more than a decade, it is still a hot topic in the creation of fan fiction. What is the drive for continuing Harry Potter''s fan fiction? What are the relationships between fan fictions and secondary texts of Harry Potter such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Tales of Beedle The Bard, Quidditch Through The Ages and Pottermore? According to the theory of intertextuality, any text has an intertextual relationship to others. In order to understand how fans can reinterpret the text to satisfy their own desires, the researcher used qualitative research to explore the intertextual relationship between Harry Potter''s fan fictions and Harry Potter''s primary or secondary texts. This study first investigates why the readers of Harry Potter recreate fan fictions by the types of plot reversal or plot extension. Secondly, the intertextual relations between fan fictions and secondary texts of Harry Potter will be explored. Finally, I will examine how the fan fictions are, based on the readers’ views, related to primary text Harry Potter. The findings are: the readers tend to read the type of contents that they are acquainted with. The reasons of recreating or extending the plots of original text include the lovable themes of love and fantasy, the willing to participate in the plot and change it, the timeline of the creation and the homage to the original text and the author. Most of the readers believe that, though secondary texts are valuable for their recreation, the primary text is the cornerstone of fan fictions, and the primary text is inextricably linked to the fan fictions.
