In the research, we will subdivide the three concepts of Future time perspective, Learning Engagement and Liberal Arts Ability. Data were gathered from 1,348 undergraduates who received surveys when they were freshmen. Using the "Future time perspective scale", “Learning engagement scale" and “Liberal arts ability scale"were utilized as research tool. Then we use the Pearson Performance Correlation and multiple regression analysis. The main results showed that: (1) There is a positive relationship between the Future time perspective, learning engagement and the core competence of liberal arts ability, except for the "speed" of the future time perspective on the "performance" of the learning input. (2) The "future goals" in the future time perspective of freshman, and the factors "skill" in learning engagement better predict the liberal arts ability.
