Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 哲學系碩士在職專班 === 106 === This research deals with how the Arete of mothers whose children are 0-12 years old was illustrated in Rousseau's works, and hopes to find a way to solve the problem of children's human nature corruption and save children's natural goodness, as well as finding out the general method of realizing Rousseau's idea. First I will discuss the influence of Lucius Mestrius Plutarch (46-120AD) on Rousseau's view of nature and religion, which is one of the sources of Rousseau's thought on Mother's Arete. Then I will deal with Rousseau's view on nature, things, and human, and how they are used in developing a system of Mother's Arete. From Emile and La Nouvelle Héloïse, we can learn that the religious thoughts laid the foundation for the complete system of Rousseau. Rousseau first establishes doctrine of nature through his concept of religion, then builds his Epistemology and moral thoughts. The implementation of Rousseau’s thoughts should take the design of the social system into consideration, and how to educate the mothers of their vocation under this kind of system, and help increase the level of harmony of a family. As a result, we need to have a Social Convention of Mother's Arete, in order to guarantee that full-time and dual-career mothers can work well in the crucial period of the first three years of their children. In addition, I will take the Montessori method as an example, to explore how she was influenced by Rousseau and how she put his thoughts into practice.
