碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 護理學系碩士班 === 106 === BACKGROUND
According to the statistics of the Migration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, there are 529,685 newimmigrant by the end of November 2017, with a Southeastbound entry rate of 86.1%, to gain an increase of Southeast Asian children in Taiwan too, however, the accessibleand applicability of health education are still inadequate. This study attempts to introduce Vietnamese DVD media into infants and young children's flu prevention and promtionadvocacy, which expects to promote Vietnamese women's flu awareness and injecting attitude towards influenza in infants and young children.
PURPOSE
1.Tounderstand Vietnamese women and the physical condition of infants and young children
2.To explore Vietnamese women's flu awareness and injecting attitude towards influenza in infants and young children
3.To comparerelevance oftradition healthleaflet and theVietnamese media coverage of intervention ofinfants and young children of influenza vaccination knowledge and attitude
4.To investigate the mothers’ satisfaction to use Vietnamese media
METHOD
The cross-session research method was used in this study, a total of 120convenient samples were invited and further divided into two groups, one experimental group and the control group. And arevised questionnaire of the "Flu Vaccination for Young Children" whichdeveloped by Yunlin County Health Bureau was used as a research tool, and the CDC Vietnamese version offlu vaccine leaflet and the Vietnamese language DVD as intervention tool.
RESULTS
1.Vietnamese women aged 25-29 years and stay in Taiwan for more than 4-6 years, most of them are married and have working experience.The majority of women who’s husband aged between 40-49 years old, high school education and with a job as the labor workers. In addition,the characteristics of women in both groups were statistically significant with "marital status of mother", "family monthly income", "family support for infant", "age of infants and young children" and "whether infants or young children were vaccinated with influenza vaccine before.".
2.Knowledge of flu vaccination for infants and young children of Vietnamese women was significantly different after the one-week intervention of Vietnamese language media in advocating health education.
3.There was a significant difference in pre-test knowledge scores of flu vaccination among infants and young children in the two groups of Vietnamese women.
4.No differences of satisfaction in two groups women in term of the Vietnamese media and health leaflet.
DISCUSSIONAND SUGGESTION
The Vietnamese media did not make the difference of mothers between influenza vaccination knowledge and attitudes in infants and young children. However, "Vaccine Adverse Drug Reaction" and "Vaccine side Effect" have the intention of Vietnamese women to make influenza vaccination in infants and young children still be influential. The provision of new immigrantvocal-based education is still appropriate for health education and advocacy. This not only directly help the new immigrant health knowledge, but can be reviewed again to reinforce the willingness of influenza vaccination in infants and young children. In addition, theimmigrantwomen are relatedhighly through their family support and experience gained around them. It is advisable to provide medical seminars for neo-residents or provide one stopwindow assistance to implement a multi-dimensional and friendly social environment.
Furthermore, due to Taiwan Government has reduced the number of multi languages leaflets and handbooks printed, and alsothe reduction of community service interpreters’manpower, resulting in the inability of new immigrantto acquire specific health care knowledge and skills. How to enable the community to continuously provide suitable language lectures even the useage ofe file program whichrelated infant and child flu for improving Vietnamese women's awareness of influenza vaccines and make their attitudes positively.
Finally, teach the concept of correct hand washing are the easiest and most effective anti-epidemic strategies since in this current study shows there are still a lot of immigrant mothers without letting young children wash hands before and after taking food or after loo; therefore, how we accurately transmit the correct message and further education is important.
In the current era of Internet search convenience, suggest the health professionals can develop native-speaking medical applications (APP) to provide health education for neo-residents and encourage their spouses and in-laws to participate in relevant programsso as to enhance family and peer support. The context of a friendly medical environment is just around the corner.
