Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 應用美術學系碩士班 === 106 === A new design subject “Social Design” has begun to rise, which advocates “human-centered” and a pursue of a better and more friendly living environment. Through a unique design thinking method, it is expected to use design to give back to the community. Due to work influence, a realization of how limited the public is aware of Autism draws the attention. Therefore, the goal is to help the public to have a better understanding of people with Autism through this particular research. Through literature, one explores the essence and composition of social design. The concept focuses on “human-centered planning and achieving the perseverance of goodness”. Through analysis of each part of the case studies and design thinking process, it is found that empathy plays an indispensable role, putting oneself in the same shoe is the most ideal solution. This study aims to introduce illustrations in social design by analyzing modern graphic illustrations, case studies and create the best visual style and presentation for people with Autism. The research method is to conduct in-depth interviews aimed at designers who have participated in social design and Autism carers, collecting ideas from designers and documenting their experiences, workflow and project planning, to help create a clear basis of direction in future creation. Finally, in order to create an opportunity for the public to get to know more about people with Autism - by applying my professional graphic design as a tool according to the “social design execution process” - an exhibition has been curated. Introducing Autism as the theme in the form of graphic illustrations, in the hope to capture and represent their feelings. The exhibition is held from July 7th to July 18th 2018, at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park 113 S1(Foundation for Research on Open Space). By verifying the feasibility of this design process, the viewers have provided valuable responses and feedback. The exhibition was able to successfully attract people’s attention and provoke discussions, The purpose, regardless of how small it is, the most valuable aspect is to create conversation between people which should be encouraged and recognized!
