Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 金融碩士在職學位學程 === 106 === The source of this study was from ‘Annual Research Report on the Annual Experience Loss Rate of Taiwan's Life Insurance Personal Medical Insurance from 2010 to 2014’ of Taiwan Insurance Institute and ‘Health Statistics on the National Health Insurance from 2010 to 2014’ of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. These two reports were used as secondary data to conduct cross analysis among hospitalization insurance payment, National Health Insurance payment and the shortage of elderly medical treatment payment. The results can be summarized as followings: 1. The reasons of Hospitalization for people age over 65 are mainly hypertension, hypertension induced by hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia, heart disease and cerebrovascular disease. 2. The number of commercial health insurance was negatively correlated to crude hospitalization rate and hospital admission rate as the age increases. This shows that commercial medical insurance cannot provide sufficient medical security for the elderly. 3. The number of Hospitalization cases of the primary contract, additional contracts of commercial health insurance, and National Health Insurance shows that women’s frequent hospitalization happens earlier than men. 4. The rate of National Health Insurance hospitalization of women in age groups 20-34 is greater than women crude hospitalization rate. This illustrates most hospitalized women did not have Life-long medical insurance to cover their expenses. According to the results, there are four suggestions: 1. The number of commercial health insurance was negatively correlated to crude hospitalization rate and hospital admission rate as the age increases. This means it is difficult to purchase commercial medical insurance for people who are over 65 years-old. It is recommended that people should buy Life-long medical insurance in their earlier age to cover their elderly medical expenses. 2. There is a significant difference between male and female hospitalization amount. It is more important for women to plan their medical insurance in their age in order to cover all medical expenses. 3. It is also recommended to design a special life-long medical insurance for some specific needs of the elderly. 4. The insurance companies can offer some specific Life-long medical insurance for elderly people with minor coverage of medical expenses.
