Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 通訊工程學系 === 106 === The pace of present technology development now days is getting faster and faster. The new technologies created enormous amount of data over internet and they are growing exponentially. To store all these data pushes for the highly efficient data compression techniques. These data compression algorithms make the transfer of data faster than ever and storage space smaller than ever. However, most of the data compression techniques concentrated on high compression ration rather than data recovery of corrupted compressed files. A compressed file will be unable to decompress correctly if there are few bits corrupted in the file and will require a re-transmission or to retrain another copy from other storage device. To cope with the need of data recovery from certain files, we proposed a segmented data compression technique. This technique can help us to retrieve most of the uncorrupted data if some contents of this file are lost. The trade-off of the proposed data compression is less than optimal compressed ratios for better protection of data files.
