Sustainable development has become a significant benchmark in the society. To make contributions to sustainable development and to enhance local features of the city, the purpose of this research is to demonstrate the idea of shared-pole traffic facility. Based on the principle of eco-friendly development, the shared-pole traffic facility is simply an all-in-one system that integrates the function of street lights, traffic lights, warning signs and traffic lights for pedestrians. In this way, problems regarding to roadways filled with different spreading-over traffic signs could be effectively improved. In the literature review, the researcher will not only generalise for the de-sign purpose of road lighting, relative rules and instructions of the shared-pole traffic facility, but will demonstrate the matters which need to be aware of when designing the facility. Service condition of shared-pole traffic facility in both Kaohsiung and Taichung City will be elaborated. Additionally, the merits and demerits of the current form of the lights or light boxes will be dis-cussed. After systematically comparison and analysis, the recommendation of using LED lights as the main form of lights in the shared-pole traffic facility in Taichung City will be proposed. This research is a survey research. Questionnaires will be used to collect data and support this thesis. At the end, the recommendations regarding to future design and regulation of the shared-pole traffic facility in Taichung City will also be revealed. HSU, YAO-TZU 徐耀賜 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 61 zh-TW
