Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 科技管理碩士學位學程 === 106 === This thesis is to help people and companies lower the risks of cultural conflicts when entering China. It is built on previous research, cultural elements and case based interviews, which study how Chinese people react to Western leadership. Chinese leadership skills and style in an open market has long been inferior to that of the Western world. The gab is, however, slowly closing due to Western companies has entered China, first to produce and later to sell. Introducing Western business leadership to China is not straightforward due to cultural and historical reasons, and due to how the Chinese government influence the Chinese society and market. The research part studies the reaction of the Chinese when faced with Western leadership practices and their views on the strengths and weaknesses. One of the strengths of the Western leadership style is also a weakness; the Chinese enjoy the flat management structure of the Western business because it’s open and easy to communicate with executives, however, this style also become frustratingly slow for them. Other major topics covered are team-work, obedience and loyalty, decision making process, and what kind of company the Chinese would work for in the beginning.
