According to Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communication, domestic tour ratio is around 93.2%, the average tour amount is 9.04 time, the average consumption is around 2,086, and the total amount of tour cost is around 397,100 million. In fact, tourism industry has the potential to regenerate local economy in country area. Festival not only can regenerate local area, but also transform local industries. Therefore, this study explores the potential effect of large festival event in rural area, and the case study is Lantern Festival in Yunlin in 2017. The effect will include tourist satisfaction, revisit rate, and the local image. The results show that tourists not only visit Lantern Festival event but also visit other tourism spot in Yunlin. Thus, the potential effect is not only economic benefit but also increase the reputation of Yunlin. Keywords: Festival, Satisfaction, Local development
