Performance is different from understanding design, making it easier to manage, operate, and maintain the use and safety of structures. Structural damage means the change of structural physical parameters, and the change of physical parameters will inevitably cause changes in structural vibration characteristics. The meaning, application status and classification methods of structural health monitoring and damage dynamic detection methods are introduced. The structural damage detection method and recognition algorithm based on dynamic characteristics are introduced. Finally, the problems to be further studied and the development trend of structural damage detection methods are prospected. The research progress of sensor placement methods and evaluation criteria commonly used in structural health monitoring is reviewed. The internal relationship between several commonly used sensor placement methods is analyzed. The five commonly used sensors are discussed. Evaluation criteria for layout methods.
