By using the slot of CSRR to increase the current return path, and change the current distribution at different frequencies. In addition, DGS will provide extra inductance and capacitance effects. Those inductance and capacitance will help shrink the size of antenna. This thesis also presents an extraction method for inductance and capacitance of (CSRR) on ground plane by using CSRR as a defected ground structure (DGS) of a microstrip line.
