Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士班 === 106 === By studying the history of automobile design, a cycle in the car interior design movement can be recognized. In the 1900s the cabin was orientated on the rear seat passengers. Since the economic recession in the 1930s, the design moved to focus more on the driver's interests and safeties. However, in the 1990s, the expansion of capitalism and traffic circumstances changed the behavior of consumers, especially in the luxury segment. The design orientation for automotive interior was silently coming back to be based on passengers.
In 2040, a predictable future, the application of artificial intelligence in autonomous driving will be common. There will be no drivers but only passengers in the car. How will this revolution change the car interior design?
This research is divided into three stages. I first analyze the movement of automotive interior design from the point of history. Secondly make a survey about artificial intelligence for autonomous driving. Moreover, focus on a predicted urban traffic situation and then deduce the orientation for car interior design in the future. After the prospect collection, a survey was conducted by questionnaires to obtain objective opinions. As a conclusion, five different concept examples of possible car interior design orientations are proposed.
