That has led to the advancement of military science and technology. The digital battlefield environment and weaponry and equipment will be high-tech in the future. The national army needs high-professional and high-quality long-term manpower. In order to effectively establish a high-quality, professionalized military service system, the military service system will orient toward to the recruitment only from the originally conscription and recruitment. The new recruitment system urgently requires highly educated manpower. The college students are the primary target for the national army’s manpower. Recruiting high quality college students become a critical issue to the national army. Therefore, this study investigates impacts of the college departments and working values to the willingness to join the military. The undergraduate students of Chaoyang University of Science and Technology were randomly selected from the online questionnaires. A total of 353 questionnaires were collected. After deducting 53 invalid questionnaires, the number of valid questionnaires was 300, and the effective response rate was 85%. The findings are as follows: (1) The undergraduate’s department has no significant influence on the willingness to join the military. (2) The work value of the undergraduate student has no significant influence on the willingness of joining the military which is caused by the personal interest. (3) The working value of college student has no significant influence on willingness of joining the military which is attracted by the higher social status for soldier. (4) The self-realization in the working value has significant impact to the willingness of joining the military which is motivated by the economic needs.
