It is easily died if there is no proper treatment within a very short time. The proposed “Small Helper on Ambulance: A Simple Identification System of ECG Signals” is a little helper on the ambulance which can provide the identification of heart conditions to the medical personnel in the ambulance as a reference for first aid and his/her electrocardiogram during an ambulance can also be provided to an emergency physician in the emergency room for reference. The proposed identification system can determine the following six rhythms: normal sinus rhythm, sinus tachycardia, sinus bradycardia, atrial fibrillation, ventricular fibrillation, and ventricular hypertrophy. The proposed simple identification system of electrocardiogram signals includes the following three parts: (a) ECG signal acquisition, (b) feature value computations of the qualitative features, and (c) ECG signal identification. Experimental results by using the MIT/BIH Arrhythmia database show that the proposed system’s correct identification rate is about 92%.
