Summary: | 碩士 === 中原大學 === 生物醫學工程研究所 === 106 === Many people complain of sickness or eye strain after using virtual reality display. This is possibly caused by the vergence-accommodation conflict that inhibits the near synkinetic reflection of eyes. A planar image in a mixed reality was used to eliminate the effects of near synkinetic reflections to confirm whether vergence-accommodation conflict is really the main cause of dizziness. The change in physiological response after viewing the plane and the stereoscopic motion pictures were analyzed to evaluate the discomfort. These include discomfort questionnaire and measurement of heart rate variability, blood pressure changes, and eye diopter. The results show that there is no significant report in dizziness after viewing different scene in mixed reality. The higher LF and LF/HF in HRV after viewing the stereoscopic motion picture shows increasing activity of parasympathetic nervous system. Whereas there were no obvious change in the activity after viewing the planar motion picture. According to the results, viewing the image in head-mounted display without having to inhibit the accommodation can reduce the discomfort caused by vergence-accommodation conflict.
