Summary:碩士 === 中央警察大學 === 警察政策研究所 === 106 === With the ever-changing process of science and technology, how to make crime prevention more effective has, nowadays, been an important issue. In this paper, the source data of burglary crime from Changhua Branch, Changhua County Police Station were collected and the GIS was also employed to draw out the crime maps. In addition, the computer was herein used to integrate the spatial data, attribute data and time data for issues to be discussed and form superimposed layer, thereby correctly demonstrating the distribution of the data researched in terms of time and space, the changing patterns and their mutual relations so as to find out crime hot spots for analysis and statistical processing, which would later be the reference of crime prevention for polices. In this research, it was found that the crime hot spots were dotted in the areas surrounded Changhua Railway Station, Changhua Christian Hospital, ChanghuaShow Chwan Hospital, National Changhua University of Education as well as the surrounding roads of Chienkuo Technology University. From the perspective of crime hot spots, the spatial distribution of crime was not uniform, which was more likely centered on special urban areas, especially near the commercial centers and heavy industrial areas. Moreover, the crime rate was negatively associated with the distance from the city center. Burglary crime was characterized with spatial clustering and the crime hot spots were mostly concentrated in convenient, crowed and main roads in city centers. Besides, the hot spots were inclined to spread outward from the city center and the main road to other parts. With the analysis of kernel density in GIS system, the road map forpatrol can be automatically adjusted through the system according to the needs of users. The recommendations are as follows: (1) effective allocation of police force resources (2) Take crime hot spots as a reference for police service patrol planning (3) Improve police monitor system software and incorporate it with mobile devices (4) Police criminal information must be treated in a rigorous way. Finally, the crime hot spot map analyzed is made publicly available for the citizens to achieve a community-based policing effect.
