This makes Taiwan be one of the aged societies. It means more than 14% of the population over 65 years old. In addition to a sound social welfare system and a friendly living environment, how to promote the harmony and mutual care of young people and senior citizens, share life experiences, and increase exchanges between generations is another important issue. In order to solve the current aged social problem and the housing need of young people in Taiwan, this study intends to promote the “Silver and Green co-housing” program. by converting parts of the residential housing units into a cohabitation space. It means to put the aged people and young people live together in the same housing unit. This could not only provide a new accommodation option for young people at school or at work but also could reduce the economic pressure of young people’s accommodations by co-housing with senior citizens. In the meantime, it could reduce the social problems of the elderly living alone, reduce the care manpower, and achieve the goal of aging in place and aging actively. The main goal this study are : 1. Analysis of the experience of the elderly and the young people co-housing scheme at home and abroad. 2. Understand the influence factors of willingness for young people to participate in this cohousing scheme. 3. Developing a strategy to encourage young people to participate in this cohousing scheme. The results of the questionnaire found that in aged society this co-housing scheme could not only take care of the elderly but also enhance mutual interaction between generations. This could slow down the aging progress and prolong the life expectancy of the elderly as well. Meanwhile, young people can learn care skills for the elderly and respect to the elderly. The co-housing scheme may provide young people with cheaper rents and a more suitable living environment. From the questionnaire, it is also found that rent reduction could increase the willingness of young people to participate, but the relatively focused on personal privacy design of the residential environment, which is also an important factor to increase the willingness to participate HE,MING-JIN 何明錦 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 103 zh-TW
