碩士 === 長榮大學 === 翻譯學系碩士班 === 106 === This objective of the thesis is to translate The Man in the High Castle and to discuss the translation theories and strategies to the task; it also details the author’s process and review of translating the book. This thesis is divided into six chapters. Chapter I introduces the motives and goals of this study. Chapter II gives a brief introduction of the author of the book and book itself. Chapter III presents the translation plans and preparation before translation. Chapter IV is the translation of The Man in the High Castle. Chapter V discusses the problems while translating the book from English into Chinese and all strategies needed. Chapter VI is the conclusion which presents some suggestions based on the experience in translating the book. After searching for the information of this book, I find that there is not yet the translation of the book published in Taiwan. Through this study, the Chinese translation can be introduced into Taiwan. Also, it is hoped that the translation strategies presented in this study serve as references for people engaged in translation.
