The impact of travelling includes the help and change on these teachers’ personal, familial, and career aspects. Teachers usually give lectures and guide students on daily basis, which is considered a decent job. With full dedication, how teachers manage their emotions such as love and patience without being worn out and lost their passion and energy from mountainous work is valued. A lot of teachers love traveling and usually enrich their lives through long-distance travels. On weekdays, teachers are busy preparing for courses, coaching students, correcting students’ assignments, keeping in touch with parents, and some may even have to take administrative work. On weekends, some teachers also have to teach remedial courses, or help monitor some national tests. Besides, duet to the social rapid change in our social structure, the difficulties teachers facing are even greater than those in previous times. Teachers are now undergoing educational reform, curriculum revolution, and even the shock of low birth-rates. To seek a way for emotional relief and to resume stamina for work really matter for teachers. After all, what teachers do is to educate students and set themselves as a role model, and this cannot be done without a strong mindset. Thus, most high school and vocational high school teachers utilize their winter and summer breaks to visit a foreign country, and with these traveling experiences, they go back to their schools. The objective of this thesis is to examine what changes or impacts these travelling experiences make on their teaching job and families.This study interviewed six current teachers from both high schools and vocational high schools, and discusses how they benefit in emotional management and family relations and how they enhance their teaching by traveling. Among the teachers, two specialize in Chinese, one in English, one in mathematics, one in geography, and one in motor vehicle and repairing. The study adopts qualitative research method, and by way of one-on-one in-depth interviews to analyze the influences of travelling on these teachers’ personal emotions, family relations, and teaching effectiveness.
