In this study, the T74 machine gun was used as an example. All parts were created and assembled by Solidworks, then transferred into ADAMS dynamic simulation software to analyze the movement of the mechanism. The action of the gun feed mechanism and performance parameters were observed, including the fire rate, muzzle velocity, the velocity and acceleration of the ammunition, transmission ratio and other important parameters. The results shows that the fire rate is moderate, and the feed mechanism can stably perform the feeding function, which is close to the actual gun performance. The results of this research can be used to improve the performance of the T74 machine gun and the future design of the new machine gun .
