However, the new employees are generally unfamiliar with production skills and knowledge and this has affected their job performance. Petrochemical plants are in an industry with high hazard potential and this means any inadvertent errors in the part of operators working in these plants can easily lead to accidents or losses. Therefore, this study targeted operators in this newly completed petrochemical plant as the subjects for the purpose of analyzing aspects that affected job performance among operators in this plant. We listed three aspects related to job performance: education and training implemented by the plant, use of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge inertia to understand how the three aspects affected job performance among operators in this plant in the hope that this may lead to an understanding of the right direction for job performance improvement. For this study, a survey was conducted on a sample of employees selected via purposive sampling from the operations department of this plant. Of the 72 distributed questionnaires, 70 valid ones were collected, amounting to a valid response rate of 97.22%. All the collected data were analyzed in the SPSS21.0 packaged software using statistical methods including descriptive statistics analysis, factor analysis, validity analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis for related investigations. To sum up the results of these analyses, this study obtained the following conclusions: 1.Education training had positive effects on job performance among the operators. 2.SOPs had positive effects on job performance among the operators. 3.Knowledge inertia did not have negative effects on job performance among the operators. 4.Knowledge inertia had moderation effects on the relationship between education training and the Job Performance of operators. 5.Knowledge inertia had moderation effects on the relationship between SOPs and the Job Performance of operators. Finally, suggestions are provided based on the discussions in this study as references for related departments of this plant. Chin-Mei Chou 周 金 枚 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 128 zh-TW
