These two resulted in various positive and negative perspectives in film and academic discourse. The antagonism between image simulation and reality starts from the simulation development of virtual reality and the confusion between virtuality and reality which caused and then proceeded to the exploration on how reality can be determined and how the reactions to “reality“ change. While “reality “was increasingly symbolic, it is vital to study what perspectives and responsive measures were rendered by film and academic discourse. Finally, this study would integrate these two major themes and provide comprehensive contemplation on issues and inspirations which virtual reality brought to the existence of human beings and the development of the media.
