Many reforms of corporate governance related laws have been drawn up and established, including independence of board directors to enhance their oversee function. Used to manage the organization’s relationship with the environment, interlocking directorates are vehicles for interorganizational coorfination or control to reduce uncertainty. Using data set on 594 Taiwan public firms, this paper examines the relationship between interlocking directorates and corporate governance practices. The results demonstrate that interlock is positively related to board size, positively and negatively related to independent director, positively related to number of meetings.
