Summary: | 碩士 === 吳鳳科技大學 === 消防研究所 === 105 === This study explored whether the fire in the space of the elderly welfare institutions is growing or declining, which is a proportional function between the surface area of the fire and the amount of oxygen. Based on the CFAST simulation results, when the mechanical smoke discharge was carried out under the full door open, the thermal laminar temperature in zoning space of fire room was quite high, while there was not much difference of thermal laminar in each temperature layer. However, the thermal laminar temperature in place installed with mechanical smoke extraction equipment was higher than that of the place without such equipment. According to the results of the fire test, when the mechanical smoke extraction was carried out in the condition of full outlet opening, the temperature variation between the sites of experimental model house near the fire source and smoke extraction port showed a significant growth. Both results verified the functional relationship between the combustion amount of fire load and oxygen in zoning space. Thus, when the fire of zoning space was combusted under ventilation control and the mechanical smoke extraction was initiated, the fire burning would be more prosperous due to the oxygen input. The installation of mechanical smoke extraction equipment in the elderly institutions must be under the condition of complete anti-smoke zoning (all openings are closed) so as to improve the fatal toxic gas. Yet, its effect is still not as effective as the refuge strategy of door closing, which is more cost-effective.
