碩士 === 吳鳳科技大學 === 光機電暨材料研究所 === 105 === The vision of military weapons has been long pursued the capability of long-range combat and can be continuously used to attack or defense as long as there is energy supply. The traditional projectile weapons have limitation of carrying ammunition, however, laser weapons is without this problem. In this study, the author first summarizes the history of laser and its application. Then he details laser weapon history of the United States, Russia and China and their latest strategy. Furthermore he classifies the types of laser weapons and its next step development. Besides, he studies destroyer’s laser system by different energy storage. Finally he gives conclusions and recommendations of laser weapon in next few decades. Keywords: weapons, laser, strategical weapons, directed weapons
