Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 應用物理暨化學系 === 105 === The purpose of this study is to analyze the learning process and performance of the students in elementary schools based on the STEM course. It also develops the STEM teaching materials for the students and discusses the effects of interdisciplinary teaching on students’ learning performance. The focus of this study is to conduct the STEM teaching in the field of Health and PE, which includes the assumption of scientific experiments and the design of the experiments. The study also works on the variables, providing the experimental results and achievement sharing.
The objects of this study are 30 students from the science camp of the 4th grade in the elementary school in Taipei (20 boys and 10 girls). Based on the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the quasi-experimental research method, the study analyzes students’ learning performance through the data of the questionnaire survey. The teaching practice of this material is designed according to the ADDIE model. The study first analyzes the requirement of the instructors and the background knowledge of the learners. Second, it designs the courses and puts the lesson plans into practice, with 18 periods of teaching (720 minutes in total). Last, it compares the results before and after the STEM courses to see if there are significant differences in students’ learning achievement and attitude by descriptive statistics and paired sample t test.
The results of the study are as follows:
1.Teachers of the 3rd and 4th grades in elementary schools consider that the elements of STEM can be emerged and combined into current courses, practiced in the field of Health and PE.
2.The STEM teaching materials through the model of ADDIE systematic teaching design is suitable for students’learning.
3.The students’ learning achievement and attitude toward learning science significantly improve after accepting the STEM teaching. They also gain great help in the ability of solving problems.
