Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 藝術跨域研究所 === 105 === In The Birth of Biopolitics, Michel Foucault discusses the birth of a new governmental rationality. According to Foucault’s detailed analysis of neo-liberal governmentality, we realize that governmentality is associated with governmental rationality. In my opinion, the context of Participatory Art reveals similar patterns. The evolving forms of Participatory Art also relates to the rational participation defined by the art world. When participatory art projects tends to do the practice for social restoration, the tension between the artistic critique and social critique which trigger active participation weakened. The Worse scenario is that art practice might become a revelation of biopolitical governmentality. Nowadays, the governmentality come from all aspects of the society and social issues usually experienced as individual problem. I consider the social reality metioned above led us to the collective failure situation, and I try to creat participatory art practice based on the introspection. From Loser Clinic to Loser Land Project, I speculate the connotation of participatory art and clarifying my intentions for art creation. Last but not least, I discuss the possible ideal direction of the participation in artwork.
