Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 民族音樂學研究所 === 105 === Abstract In decades, Chinese music is influenced by western classic music, starting to be symphonization. At the same time, the needs of new bass become an issue. Firstly, I consider the characters of Chinese instrument Guqin with its excellent bass sound, and improved structures of the instrument sound box. Later, I develop a newly designed cello with those ideas. A newly designed cello is made as a quasi-whole board by using crossed boards instead of traditional methods. This design results more acoustic resonance, enhancing bass sound. In addition, it also generates good quality bass sound with materials of lacquer crafts of Guqin. In this thesis, I endeavor to design new cello with characters of Guqin from the perspective of Chinese musical instrument making. Hoping this newly designed cello could provide Chinese Orchestra with different arrangements and be a considered reference to other Chinese instrument in future.
