Similarly, it happens when we hearing a sound. The sense of "this sound is this color” would happen when the brain translate hearing sense into sense of sight. This phenomenon could be called “Sound-color Associations”in this studying. The sound discussed in this study is not purposeful or made in arrangement. Therefore, sounds like music or tones wont be included in the discussion. After combining comprehensive discussion of literature review and experimental statistics, the conclusion is that most people use “Imaginative picture” to make the association with the sound and the color. Only few people use Synesthesia or Color hearing to get the color when they hear a sound. Therefore, if a sound could let most people have a same imaginative picture, we can suggest what color will be when people hear a sound. In physics, we developed a rule in “Sound-color Associations”. The rule is that high decibel sound will let people chose darker and more saturated colors. . On the other hand, low decibel sound will let people chose brighter and less saturated colors. In addition, the most influential factor of “Sound-color Associations” is types of sounds, the second one is frequency and the third one is decibel. However, the time span barely affects the “Sound-color Associations”. 彭瑞玟 學位論文 ; thesis 220
